Made By Sport is partnering with Great Run.
We’re entering into a unique partnership for the 40th Great North Run. Together with Great Run, we want to build a legacy for community sport in the North East. Through this landmark anniversary of the world’s most iconic half marathon, we want to raise vital funds to improve the lives of young people in the North East through sport.
Currently over 130,000 young people in the North East live in poverty, with those from disadvantaged backgrounds half as likely to participate in sport regularly. You can make a difference. The funds raised by those who run with Made By Sport will support community clubs and organisations who are using sport to change lives.
England midfielder Jill Scott who played a pivotal role in the team’s inspirational performance at the Women's World Cup is no stranger to a Great North Run start line, having taken part in the Junior event as a youngster:
“Giving young people access to sport gives them so many opportunities and life skills that will enrich their lives and benefit us all as a nation. I hope people get on board with the campaign and think about fundraising for Made by Sport at the 2020 Great North Run.”
